00:51 It's highly questionable (although often claimed) that Bevis Hillier coined the term Art Deco. It's a shortening of the French phrase arts décoratifs ("Decorative art") which was used already in the 1800's but was tied to the particular art style discussed here in 1925 when the exposition "Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes" took place in Paris.
According to Wiki "During the 1925 Exposition, architect Le Corbusier wrote a series of articles about the exhibition for his magazine L'Esprit Nouveau, under the title '1925 EXPO. ARTS. DÉCO.'" That would be the term used right there, so to give Bevis Hillier credit for coining the term in 1968 is highly suspect at best.

Yeah sorry, but it didn't really come back in the 80s, Miami vice was about it…lol. Given that it was a dominant style going into the dirty 30s and its 'promise of a new, better tomorrow ' esthetic would make it particularly appropriate right now, tho. I can't wait.
