Thai Christian Foundation Education Assistance: Meet Nong Pohm
We are excited to share with you a glimpse into the life of Nong Phom, one of 15 scholars, who we have helped support through his early years of education and now as he enters his University program. Your support through the Thai Christian Foundation (TCF) and our Thailandbased partner, the Pan Rak Foundation (PRF), has helped Nong Phom complete his high school education. We are excited to report that he has been accepted into the Electrical Engineering program at Mae Jo University in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
By helping to provide scholarships for students from the more rural and remote areas of Thailand and along the ThaiBurma (Myanmar) border, TCF supports these students in their journey to learn and grow. The students are able to continue their education and move into High School and University programs. These students are an inspiration to their families and communities through their dedication and hard work and many are contributing in significant ways back into the communities they came from.
Our Education Assistance Program provides a grant of 5,000 Thai Baht (150 USD) per semester for high school and vocational school students, and 10,000 Thai Baht (300 USD) per semester for University students. Our goal is to raise 10,000 USD over the next six months and we would love for you to join us in this goal. We look forward to sending you more stories about our current students.
Please pray for Nong Phom as he prepares to begin his University Studies and all of the students in need of support. It has been a difficult year and currently, the COVID19 situation in Thailand has caused a delay in the reopening of schools.
