A série 8 da NVIDIA foi bastante popular no mercado na época da corrida pelo DirectX 10, junto com a série 9. Tenho certeza que existem pessoas que usam uma 8400GS, 9500GT ou 9800 GTX até hoje entre os inscritos do canal. E hoje as pessoas vêem várias placas da NVIDIA, RTX, GTX e pensam que isso é novidade, mas nessa distante época existia uma enxurrada de variantes que deixavam até os mais experientes com dúvidas em certos momentos.
Só na série 8 existia a 8800 Ultra, 8800 GTX, 8800 GTS, 8800 GT e 8800 GS. 5 Tipos, sem falar em 8600 e 8400. E dentro da 8800 GTS tinha outras variantes dentro da variante. Na prática, em termos de desempenho, era assim:
8800 Ultra 8800 GTS 512 8800 GTX 8800 GT 8800 GTS 640 8800 GTS 320
Sem falar na série 9:
9100, 9300, 9400, 9500, 9600, 9800 com variantes GS, GT, GTX, GX2.
