Want to know how to record your tax refund into QuickBooks Online for Home Finance? You need to set up your personal, nonbusiness QuickBooks online account with an account in the chart of accounts that represents the refund that you expect to get after filing your taxes. Usually, you file after yeasr end. So during the fiscal year, yo will jnot record anything in regard to your refund. The normal way to get your home finance tax refund is to file after the tax year is over, then file your annual federal and state tax forms. It is at that moment that you know how much personal tax refund you will get from either or both. Therefore, at the moment that you know your refund is receivable, you must create a “current asset” type of account in the chart of accounts to record the amount of income tax refund you will receive.
