\”โรงเรียนบ้านหนองแก\” โรงเรียนภาษาอังกฤษ Very Good : สะเทือนไทย [CC]
จากเหตุการณ์หลายปีก่อนที่ \”ครูเนาวะรัตน์ ถาวร\” ครูบรรจุใหม่ที่จบเอกพละ เคยติดศูนย์วิชาภาษาอังกฤษทุกตัวในช่วงมัธยมปลาย ได้คุมสอบ Onet วิชาภาษาอังกฤษของนักเรียนชั้นประถม โรงเรียนบ้านหนองแก อ.วังน้ำเย็น จ.สระแก้ว
เมื่อเด็กถามว่า “จะทำข้อสอบอย่างไรดี ในเมื่ออ่านไม่ออก แปลไม่ได้เลย”
ครูเนาวะรัตน์ได้ตอบไปว่า “ให้เลือกคำตอบข้อที่ยาวที่สุด”
ครูกลับมาถามตัวเองว่าเธอเป็นครูแบบไหนถึงได้บอกนักเรียนไปแบบนั้น และนั่นเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นที่ทำให้ครูเนาวะรัตน์เริ่มมุ่งมั่นที่จะเรียนรู้ภาษาอังกฤษและค้นหาวิธีการสอน โดยมีเป้าหมายคือให้นักเรียนสามารถเข้าใจภาษาอังกฤษได้จริง
จนกระทั่งพบว่าการเรียนแบบ \”Phonic\” และอาศัยการสะกดคำภาษาอังกฤษคล้ายภาษาไทย โดยใช้สีและสัญลักษณ์ตัวเลขมาช่วยแยกประเภทตัวอักษรที่เป็นสระ พร้อมทั้งใช้ภาพสื่อความหมายของคำศัพท์นั้น ๆ จะทำให้นักเรียนอ่านเขียนแปล ศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษที่เป็นคำบัญชีพื้นฐานกว่า 1,200 คำ ได้อย่างคล่องแคล่วเพียงชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3 และมีเวลามากพอที่นักเรียนจะได้พัฒนา GrammarTenseConversation ในช่วงชั้นประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย
ซึ่งผลที่ได้คือโรงเรียนบ้านหนองแก ขึ้นแท่นสอบ Onet ได้คะแนนสูงสุดใน จ.สระแก้ว 5 ปีซ้อน (2559 2563) และคะแนนเฉลี่ยสูงกว่าระดับประเทศเกือบ 2 เท่า กลายเป็นโรงเรียนต้นแบบที่มีนวัตกรรมด้านการสอนเป็นเลิศ และมีนักการศึกษาและผู้บริหารจากสถานศึกษาเดินทางมาศึกษาดูงานจากทั่วประเทศ
