การเปลี่ยนรูปคำนามเอกพจน์ให้เป็นพหูพจน์
1. โดยการเติม s ให้คำนามทั่วไป เช่น a dog two dogs, an owl five owls
2. คำนามเอกพจน์ที่ลงท้ายด้วย s, ss, sh, ch และ x ให้เติม es ท้ายคำ เช่น a box three boxes, a brush four brushes, ยกเว้น ox + en = oxen
3. คำนามเอกพจน์ที่ลงท้ายด้วย o และหน้า o เป็นพยัญชนะ ให้เติม es เช่น a mango three mangoes, a buffalo two buffaloes, ยกเว้น a piano เป็น two pianos
4. คำนามเอกพจน์ที่ลงท้ายด้วย o และหน้า o เป็นสระ ให้เติม s เช่น a radio two radios, a bamboo three bamboos
7. คำนามเอกพจน์ที่ลงท้ายด้วย y และหน้า y เป็นพยัญชนะ ให้เปลี่ยน y เป็น i แล้วเติม es เช่น a baby two babies, a fly three flies
6. คำนามเอกพจน์ที่ลงท้ายด้วย y และหน้า y เป็นสระ ให้เติม s เช่น a key two keys, a toy two toys
7. คำนามเอกพจน์บางคำเปลี่ยนรูปเมื่อเป็นพหูพจน์ เช่น a man two men, a woman three women, a child four children, a mouse two mice, a goose five geese, a tooth ten teeth
