Hi I’m Damian. I’m a bartender here at Liquid Kitty in West LA California. I’m gonna talk a little bit about a drink called Redheaded Slut. It’s one of those drinks that has one of those offcolor names of the eighties. It was usually made as a shooter. A shot is a drink that comes in a shot glass and poured right out of the bottle. A shooter refers to a shot that is a mixed shot. It’s poured into a little bit bigger of a glass, so it’s a little bit more liquid, usually the same amount of alcohol. So that’s your difference between a shooter and a shot. So this was originally made as a shooter. Today we’re going to make it as a drink. People do drink it as a cocktail on the rocks. Keep in mind that most of the time, I’m going to build the way I build it, I’m gonna shake it, pour it in little glasses so people can shoot it. But like I said, today we’re just gonna make it as a drink. Start with the rocks glass. Fill it with ice. As in the equal parts, peach schnapps, jagermeister, and cranberry. So let’s start with the peach. It’s gonna be about an ounce each. Kind of a slow pourer there. Jagermeister. And cranberry. Give it a little shake. There you have it. Again, if you want to serve it as a shots, put a strainer on it, couple of small glasses, pour it into the shots and you do it as a shot. Very simple. So one of the interesting stories of the redheaded slut is that recently, in New Orleans, what they do every year, they have a festival every weekend. And what they do is they put to death a drink that they think is ridiculous. So they’ll have a whole parade, just like a procession like somebody actually died and they’ll do it over the weekend in New Orleans. So about two years ago, they put to death the Redheaded Slut. They had a big celebration. They refused to serve anymore. You could still get it, but it was one of those big gags that it was one of those drinks they put to death along with the Apple Martini and the Cosmopotilan. Just those drinks that they found pedantic. So the Readheaded Slut is a dead drink in New Orleans.
